Ryan Studio is a decorative pillow line that was developed to be an art on the sofa. A lot of the sofas, right now, people are being cautious with the furniture that they are buying. So they are buying a lot of neutral palettes in sofas and chairs and what Ryan Studio allows them to do is to put color in the room and to be able to change it when they tire of it and do it in a way that is not outrageously expensive.
Last season we did a lot of the greys and golds. We are still seeing that trend, to some degree, but we are also seeing a lot of the yellows and orange, the orange being more of a tangerine. The patterns that continue to sell over and over are the ikats and the suzanis. We are also seeing a lot of interest in the teals. The geometric designs, the cut velvet, actually, are very important as well.
I think you always want your colors to sit well together, if you have a bold pattern it is always nice to have a backdrop of the geometric or a stripe that works well with it, but is okay to mix the colors that sit well together, they don’t have to be the same color all the time.
